Glenmore Park

I like to do exercises in Glenmore Park, Calgary. Sometimes I visited it in the weekend, with my friends from Venezuela. Last Saturday my experience in this park was absolutely different, because I went with Canadian friends and they showed me other bit of the park that I have never been. We were walking over the bridge, road cover with snow and around of the Elbow river. I can see some specimen of birds that lived here during the fall and winter season. I can believe that in this season I practice my favourite hobby in Calgary. This park has different activities to do and you can enjoy it any time in the year

Ottawa

I went to Ottawa last November. I arrived at the airport about 1:30 p.m., and took a bus until hotel in down town. I was excitement because some people said me that: “Ottawa have a lot of cultural activities to do”. When I arrive at hotel made the check in and took a little rest until 4 p.m., later I decided walked around the street and avenue of the hotel and a found interesting and historical places. I liked The Confederation Boulevard and the majestic Parliamentary build. It’s more than a simple build; it’s a symbol of the Ottawa. I walked too for Sussex Dr, and found The National Gallery, but was closed. You can visit, only Tuesday to Sunday until 5 p.m., and I arrived about 6 p.m. At night, I went to National Art Centre because I wanted to see Monty Python's Spamalot, a lovely musical comedy, I think that it was great. Next day I went to the Venezuela Embassy for my passport and when finished my work here, I when to Sussex Dr again and walked in it and found The Champlain Bridge, I crossed it and I visited Gatineau and the Civilization Museum. My trip for the Canada Capital was wonderful and I want to go back.

This video is a bit of the first charter and presents some scenes that represent jokes about common life in Venezuela. Jokes are about trips, medicals consult, couples, work.
I think this program showed the humor of Venezuelans people, Jokes were for adults but never weren’t dirty in addition some jokes need a logical for understood it. I like It because remember me common situations the people humor that is characteristic of the Venezuelan people.

My Thanksgiving Day

My first Thanksgiving Day is today, because the countries where I lived before to Canada, never celebrated this day. I think, it is an interesting custom in Canada, and excellent opportunity for meet families and share a table with delicious, and traditional food, but for me the most important goal is the opportunity for giving thanks to god for abundance harvests. In all places of the Calgary make a reference to Thanksgiving Day, my impression is great about this day and I am exciting. I live alone, but today, I celebrated Thanksgiving Day with a Venezuelan family, they are living in Calgary and enjoy this celebration. This weekend, I helped my friends in the selection of the menu and some items. I want to learn about food for this day and reviewed in internet some dishes and recipes. I now that in Canadian families, the recipes is a tradition that pass to generation in generation, is common that the recipes to made a cranberry sauce or pumpkin pie, have a special secret of the most grandmothers. I love cook for special days, and I like found traditional menus. I copy some wonderful recipes for my personal record. I enjoy some tradition of countries in South America and I think that I incorporate this Canadian tradition in my life too.

My first time in Calgary

Last January, I arrived in Calgary, this experience was really exciting and, I started a new life. My trip Caracas to Calgary had three stopovers; the first was in Bogota, the second in Mexico and, last was in Toronto. I remember when I arrived to Toronto, because it was my first experience in a country, where people speak English. I was a little nervous, but I understood all immigration instructions and my trip ended perfect. When I arrived in Calgary my impression was bad, because it was winter, and the view in the city was grey and white, a lot of snow covered the ground, my feeling was lonely. In the airport my best friend and her family were waited with me. They prepared a little tour in the city, and always helped me to found each place that I needed to visit. In my second day in Calgary I started my English course in University of Calgary; my first week in Calgary was really interesting and unforgettable, because I started a new life.
